Cumin seeds – 1 kg
Poppy seeds – 1 kg
Pepper – 100 gm
Fennel seeds – 100 gm
Almonds – 100 gm
Cashew nut – 50 gm
Udaitha (pottu) kadalai -400 gm
1. Before beginning, make sure the ingredients are dry. They are normally sun dried. Alternatively, heat a big vessel, remove from fire. Then, put the ingredients one by one in that vessel so that they become dry.
2. Grind all the ingredients together (usually grinding in mill gives a fine result).
3. Cool the ground mixture and store it in an air tight container.
You can use this meat curry powder for mutton and chicken curries.
